Geltz Umwelttechnologie GmbH Geltz Umwelttechnologie GmbH was founded by Ulrich Geltz in 1989 and operates today on a family-business basis. Originally, their prime market sector was the design and construction of special facilities for pharmaceutical enterprises. Over the years, Geltz quickly extended their services in planning, construction and maintenance of wastewater treatment and recycling plants. Today, Geltz has an own certified facility for cleaning operation of industrial wastewater with the focus on recovery of recyclable materials, such asprecious metals, nickel and tin. Geltz also provides their customers with solution-oriented partnership, specialised chemical analysis, consulting and training. They have an expertise in both plant manufacturing and waste(water) treatment including recycling. Just few companies are able to provide both fields of work

Fraunhofer IGB based in Stuttgart, Germany

Fraunhofer IGB

Fraunhofer is one of Europe's leading organisations in the field of applied research and technology development. It is non-profit organisation comprising of 67 individual institutes in Germany. The Institute leading Fraunhofer’s involvement in ELSi is the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB, based in Stuttgart, Germany. IGB are experts in innovative environmental engineering technologies. IGB employs over 315 people, primarily scientists and engineers. The IGB Department of Physical Process Technology is part of the technical team in this project; it is specialized in research and technology development concerning electro-physical and electro-chemical processes, scale-up and system integration.

Variata Dorit Lang GmbH & Co. KG based in Mühlacker, Germany

Variata Dorit Lang GmbH & Co. KG

Variata Dorit Lang GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer and developer of custom made special badges for the automotive interior and exterior. In addition to that they deliver customers from the furniture industry.

The variata head office and manufactory is located in Germany, Baden – Württemberg. From there, they supply OEMs from all over the world. Variata are experienced in plating technology, coating technology, casting technology, manual and machine surface treatment. Variata has developed the ELSi recycling technology and already tested the pilot system with real PV modules, holding the appropriate patent.

SOLARTYS based in Barcelona, Spain


SOLARTYS, the Spanish Solar Energy & Energy Efficiency Cluster, is an industrial trade association  representing the interests of companies, research institutes and universities within this sector. Since 2009 it has been recognized as an Innovative Companies Association (AEI) by the Ministry of Industry of Spain and as Solar Business Cluster by the Generalitat of Catalonia.

Solartys works actively in support of over ninety companies through four fundamental pillars: 1) Internationalisation. 2) Promotion of R & D. 3) Training. 4) Funding search. Solartys offer numerous tools in order to strength the competitiveness of the industry. At a European level, Solartys works with universities, research centres, companies and public bodies providing technical advice and promoting networking among all the stakeholders involved.

Existing since the end of the 70's, REVATECH S.A. is the Belgian leader for treatment of waste by physico-chemical means and one of the largest on this area in Europe. Revatech main activities are: grouping, pre-treatment and treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for their recycling, recovery or disposal.

Revatech processes a wide variety of waste through many techniques: stabilization, biological treatment, physico-chemical treatment.  Among others, the company runs recycling of: Glass laboratories, Alkaline batteries, Non-ferrous metals by hydrometallurgy and others.  

Revatech is a subsidiary company of SRIW (a financial public holding) and SUEZ, a worldwide operating, multicultural enterprise, the second largest company for Environmental services in the world.

SUEZ Deutschland GmbH

SUEZ Deutschland GmbH is one of the biggest private waste management company in GermanySUEZ Deutschland GmbH is one of the biggest private waste management company in Germany with revenues of 0.6 billion € per year. The activities are recycling and waste recovery with the main activities in collection and logistics, sorting and dismantling, recovery and treatment, waste management and consulting, packaging licensing  and waste regulation. As a full service provider SITA Deutschland has 50 locations in Germany with different activities and a network of 300 cooperating companies and logistics partner.

SUEZ Deutschland GmbH is a 100%  subsidiary company of SUEZ Environnement S.A. in France. SUEZ was founded in 1858 to build a link between the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean: The Suez Canal. Until today the company changed into a worldwide operating, multicultural enterprise and is the second largest company for Environmental services in the world. The business of SUEZ is divided in two divisions: Water and waste. The current revenues are 14.3 billion € per year worldwide.
